Store more water!
This is a great product that does exactly what it was sold to do. It holds water. My philosophy is that if it smells a little funny I'll just filter it as I need it. Also, a strap wrench might help tighten and loosen this lid.
And don't forget, we can last for 3 weeks without food but we can't last 3 days without water... Store more water!Quality

it smells bad when you open it just wash it out a few times and go with it. beats the hell out of no water .

It is tough. We put one in each of the trunks of our cars. They have been rolling around back there and are still holding. The design is not the best. The shape makes it difficult to unscrew the lid. Overall, not exciting but works just fine.
